I qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and have since focused my career on assisting the most vulnerable in society.

I am a Legal Director in the education law team, and I specialise in special educational needs law. I have over a decade of experience successfully helping parents get the right support for their child’s education, health and social care needs. I also advise clients on disability discrimination in school, school admission and school exclusion appeals.

My role involves overseeing complex SEN cases, advising parents and ensuring that children with special needs receive the appropriate education and support they are entitled to by law.

I have a deep understanding of the legal framework surrounding special education needs, including:

Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans: Assisting families in obtaining and challenging EHC plans, ensuring that the child’s educational needs are met.

Appeals and Disputes: Representing clients in appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal to secure necessary provisions for children with SEN.

School Exclusions: Advising families on legal options regarding school exclusions, ensuring that children’s educational rights are protected.

Discrimination and Equal Access: Providing legal support in cases of discrimination based on disability.

Access to Support and Services: Ensuring families receive access to additional support services, such as speech therapy, behavioural services, and educational psychology assessments.

With years of experience in SEN law, I am known for my comprehensive knowledge, compassionate approach, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children with special needs and their families.

I volunteer with national and local charities that advocate for children with disabilities, offering pro bono legal advice and support to families in need. I am a volunteer adviser at IPSEA (Independent Providers of Special Education Advice) and provide guidance on navigating the complexities of special education needs law ensuring that families understand their rights and can access support their children need. I am dedicating to empowering parents and advocating for inclusive education reflects her unwavering commitment to fairness and equality, making a meaningful difference in the lives of countless families.

My public service reflect my ongoing commitment to advancing the cause of children with special educational needs and ensuring they receive the education and support they are entitled to.
