At Enable Law, we are representing a number of former patients of Mr Hutchinson who are now looking to claim compensation for the negligent medical care that they received.
Last year, we were made aware that Spire Hospital in Bristol was conducting an internal review of the care provided to the patients of Mr Hutchinson. We know following that review, a number of patients received correspondence from the Spire Hospital confirming the internal review concluded that the care provided by Mr Hutchinson had not been appropriate and that they had come to harm as a result.
We now understand that North Bristol NHS Trust had also commissioned an external review by the Royal College of Surgeons to consider the care provided by Mr Hutchinson to their patients. The results of this review have now been published and North Bristol NHS Trust are now writing to patients whose care was reviewed anonymously, advising them of the findings of that investigation specific to them. This review has identified patients that have come to harm as a result of inappropriate treatment by Mr Hutchinson.
We understand that the findings of these investigations are going to be upsetting and alarming to his former patients, particularly if their care has formed part of the review.
